Group Lessons - 5 Students max.

The French lessons are given in Group lessons of 5 students max. with Gil.

Lessons duration : 2 hours

Each lesson is 2 hours long. You will have 3 lessons of 2h per week.

Course Outcomes – The Basics

At the end of the course, you will be able to :

Present yourself in French

– You will be able to present yourself in French (age, nationality, address, profession, hobbies, etc.).
– You will understand people when they present themselves, on condition that they speak slowly and be willing to repeat themselves.

Speak about you and your family

– You will be able to speak about your family (name, age, occupation, family relations, etc.).
– You will be able to portray the members of your family (physical & personality descriptions).
– You will be able to write a simple postal card or email to your family to greet them and give news.
– You will be able to understand people speaking about their families, on condition that they speak slowly and be willing to repeat themeselves.

Grammar Objectives – The Basics

At the end of the course, you will master :

French pronunciation

You will start this course by learning and reviewing the pronunciation of French language. We will spend time learning how to position your mouth to pronounce each sound of French. At the end of the course, you will be able to recognize, distinguish and pronounce each sound of French language.

The basic structures of French

You will understand and master the basic structures of French language. We will also have had a look at the global structure of French language, so that from the very beginning you know what the global architecture of French language looks like.

The present tense

The present tense is the most irregular tense of French language. We learn it first. At the end of this course, you will master the conjugations of the Present tense as well as the infinitive forms of the verbs.

The determiners

The determiners are these little words that you put in front of the nouns (le, la, les, un, une, des, etc.). They take the gender and the number of the nouns and they help to identify the nouns. At the end of the course, you will understand and master their usage.

You don’t need to have studied French to follow this course. This course is made for complete beginners. We will start from the very beginning with French pronunciation and learn the basics of French.

You don’t need to buy materials to take this course. I will provide the materials (books for beginner, texts, etc.) for your learning of French language. However, I also encourage you to search for content in French that appeals to your personal taste and expose yourself to it in your daily life. This can be music in French, movies, documentaries, etc. Being proactive is key when learning a language.

How long is this course?

This course is 30 hours of French lessons long and will last 5 weeks.

Do I need to download a software to follow this course?

Yes, if you don’t have it already installed on your computer, you will need to download Zoom video conferencing software to learn French with me online. When you make your very first reservation, you will receive, with the welcoming email, a link to our Zoom meeting room. You will be able to download Zoom from this link in 1 click and get ready for your first class.

What about the schedule? Is it flexible?

The schedule of each French lesson is fixed. When you join this course, you will find the list and the time of all your appointments inside of your Group account. You will be able to join your online classroom in 1 click from the link inside of your appointment summary.
